Calculators aren't offered at the test centers, and you aren't able to share a calculator.
Quick Facts
- Only the calculators mentioned on this page are accepted to be used for the Math Test, Calculator portion of the test.
- You may not use any calculator while working on tests like the Reading, Writing and Language, or Math Test--No Calculator portions. You will need to remove the calculator aside during these sections of the test.
- You will be dismissed and your marks canceled should you utilize your calculator for sharing details during the test or to remove questions or answers from the testing room.
Calculator Smarts
- Bring your own calculator. You cannot share one.
- Do not bring a new calculator. Bring one you know. Practice for the test using the same calculator you'll be using on test day.
- This Math Test includes some questions where it's better not to make use of the calculator even though you're allowed to.
- It is helpful to perform scratch work on the test book. Write down your thoughts before making use of your calculator.
- Make sure that your calculator is in functioning order and that the batteries are new. The test center does not supply extra calculators or batteries. If your calculator fails during testing and you're not able to find a replacement, you'll be required to finish the test without it.

SAT Subject Tests Calculator Policy
Calculators are permitted only for Subject Tests in Mathematics. Check out the guidelines and rules.
Acceptable Calculators
If you own the calculator with characters that are one inch or higher, or if your calculator has a raised display that may be visible other test takers, you'll be seated according to the preference from the testing coordinator.
Only handheld handhelds powered by batteries can be used for testing. The use of power cords is not allowed.
Calculators that are permitted for testing include:

- Four-function computers are all four functions (not advised)

Unacceptable Calculators
You cannot use any of the following items as a calculator:
- Laptops or other computers tablets, mobile phones, smartwatches, or wearable technology
- Models that can access the Internet and have wireless Bluetooth mobile, audio/video recording and playback, camera, or other smartphone-type features
- Models that feature a computer-style (QWERTY) keypad pen input, pen, or stylus
- Models that utilize electric outlets, produce noise or are made of paper tape
- In addition, the usage of hardware peripherals , such as styluss with an approved calculator is not allowed. Some models that feature touchscreen capability are not permitted (e.g., Casio ClassPad).
